Are there special considerations of the science party or cruise scheduling?
Consider science time constraints; coordination of equipment shipping;
two-ship operations; weather windows; mooring turn-around; teaching schedules
and others that will affect scheduling decisions.
-------------------------------------------------
Bruland and Hutchins both have their proposals funded. Nelson, Dugdale and
Brzezenski are resubmitting for the February deadline to obtain funding for
their Silicate Pump proposal. If they receive funding, we will need a large
Thompson-type research vessel. If they do not recieve funding, Bruland and
Hutchins could probably get by with a Medium size vessel such as the RV Wecoma.
Thus, I have submitted a request for both types of research vessels.

deck space for two vans - a sampling van and an analytical van. A trace metal
dedicated winch with Kevlar hydroline. Hopefully we can borrow it from MLML.
